Thanks every one for your efforts. Now we've got rid of that d**nable 8th place we can relax ever so slightly.
Many thanks to Newmilns & Galston euphonium player for being such a superb stand in for our own superstar Ian C.
Let this be the last time that Kinneil Band is happy with a 5th place.

Congratulations to everyone at Unison Kinneil. You will go into next years Scottish with 11 points which will put you on an even footing with the bands coming up from the 1st section - could be interesting.

John, it might be interesting for them but with respect, we won't give a monkeys. I doubt if any championship band has ever gone through such a disasterous build up to an area contest. Three illnesses, a solo euph in hospital, a little tiff over a few bars and the icing on the cake, Carriden getting promoted (which is brilliant for them and the town) BEFORE we played with that Relegation spectre hanging over us ! The two bands coming up can worry about the 11 points !!!!!!!

Nothing to worry about next year. There will be other bands above making chocolate buttons

Better clarify, wasn't meaning to be touchy, just reflecting our build up and the fact we could so easily hve been relegated if things had gone wrong on the day. Of all the pieces to lose your solo euph on, fair do's to the lad who came in, he was excellent but it was a worrying time for everyone ! We as a band and as individuals are delighted Carriden are up, especially in such a special anniversary year. We all however, from the pressure point of view and under the circumstances already piled against us, would have preferred to learn their result after we'd played. Think of the Gers on the last day of the season. Motherwell have hammered Celtic in the Setanta game at 12.30 so all Rangers need is a point at Pittodrie to stay up. Get the drift now. ;D

To all the guys and dolls of kinneil band I myself never have felt so severely chuffed with all of yous the way you went on and played a blinder performance. You don't know the relief I felt when I heard the result, and I must also thank the young chap from newmilns and galston who did a great job as my stand in. Again from an auld crabit man very well done hope to see you all soon. Also we must congratulate B&C for winning their section.

In the end you go on and play the best you can as always. Lets face it, the Scottish also depends on how your nearst rivals play on the day as well. I cant see why Carriden winning the first section had anything to do with Kinneil in the top section, if anything its makes you more determined to put on a show..........and it worked did it not. The two Bo'Ness band in the scottish Championship Section again................well done.
